How to Look Pulled Together in a Pinch

Out the door in 5 mins for errands in “fitted” sweats: knit maxi, tank and jean jacket

Most weekend mornings, I’m limited on time, energy, and creativity for pulling my look together.  There are kids to drive, meals to make, jobs to do, people to see… and no glam squad rushing in to help.

Coco Chanel once said, “I don’t understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little – if only out of politeness.” I might not take it to a Coco level, but I’d rather not be spotted out in slouchy pants and an oversized tee!

So, what’s the secret to looking pulled together in a pinch?

Your “style uniforms.” Outifts you can just live in – comfortable, functional, stylish. It eliminates the age-old “What to wear?” question and poises you for fabulousness every day.

My weekend style uniforms include:

  • The I’m-running-to-Costco-and-75-other-errands uniform – try super soft, fitted (yes, I said fitted) sweats that are flattering and comfortable
  • A great grab-lunch-and-catch-up uniform – think easy, breezy summer dresses. From mini to maxi, there’s one that will work.
  • A hot-date-night-with-a-babysitter-curfew uniform – dark, slim or skinny jeans, a silky cream tank or dressy tee, brightly hued flats, and ruby-red lips.

Experiment to find the shoes, belts, scarfs and purses that work with each uniform so you’re ready  to run out the door in a moment’s notice.

Not sure what your style uniforms are? Snap and save a “selfie” on your phone whenever you wear something that makes you feel fabulous. Next time you’re in a pinch, no need to think – just grab that great uniform and go!

So, I’m dying to know. What are your secrets to looking pulled together in a pinch?
